Professor Catherine Donovan

Catherine is Professor of Social Relations at the University of Sunderland and Principal Invesigator on The Coral Project. With Prof Marianne Hester, Catherine conducted the first comprehensive study comparing love and violence in same sex and heterosexual relationships in the UK and internationally.

Dr Rebecca Barnes 

Rebecca is Lecturer in Criminology at the University of Leicester and Co-Investigator on The Coral Project.  Rebecca’s doctorate, completed at the University of Nottingham in 2007, was one of the first in-depth, qualitative studies of survivors of partner abuse in women’s same-sex relationships.

Dr Catherine Nixon

Catherine is Research Associate at the University of Sunderland.  Catherine’s doctorate, completed at Sheffield Hallam University in 2011, explored lesbian parents’ identity work in home and school contexts.  Catherine is also the LGBT-DVA Research Network Coordinator: an online community website for academic and practitioner researchers working in the field of LGBT domestic violence and abuse.  To join the Network, please email catherine.nixon@sunderland.ac.uk
